KINGSTON — Saugerties High emerged with first place in the team results after Saturday’s second round of competition at the Kingston Duals wrestling tournament.

The Sawyers finished 6-1 and had victories over Section 7 powerhouse Peru and Section 1’s North Rockland on their way to the title.

Saugerties also defeated East Ramapo, Goshen, Beacon and Wallkill.

The only loss came in a 39-39 tie with Somers on Friday and Somers was declared the winner in that match with eight individual weight class winners to seven for the Sawyers.
